Anantnag, Jan 05 (KNB): The initiative of two months winter tutorial program in kashmir has disappointed the students of south Kashmir Anantnag District who belong to poor families as the government has ordered to pay the fee Rs 300 in institutions. The Valley is in the middle of ChillaiKalan, the harsh 40-day winter period that falls during the two-month-long winter vacation of schools.
Talking to Kashmir news Bureau students of Voiloo Zone who belong to a poor family said that our parents can’t afford to pay the fee for our study as the government order to pay the fee of Rs 300 to 8thand 7thclass. The teachers forced us to pay Rs 400 instead of Rs 300 and these teachers are violating govt norms and taking us Rs100 extra fee.
Some of the students alleged that the teachers associated with the winter tutorial program have failed to come up to the expectations of the students.
Students alleged that the teachers don’t come regularly for taking classes and apart from this the teachers have failed to do justice with the timely completion of the syllabus,”added that some teachers teach us only one subject in thebwholeday. said a group of students from Dodkul Gadoolvarea of kokernag.
Under the program the students are getting coaching from government school teachers and the students are charged Rs 300 for two month, including Rs 100 for heating arrangements. “The way it was publicized by the higher ups in the department we had high expectations from this initiative but the teachers who have volunteered for the program aren’t doing justice with the students,” said Rashid Ahmad a student from Dodkul GadoolKokernag.
The students stated that there was no proper supervision of the teachers who are associated with the winter tuitions an initiative of the school education department.
Nobody is making these teachers accountable. They have taken this job for granted and are trying to please their higher ups just for being part of the initiative launched by the department,” students alleged.
Meanwhile when contacted to the CEO Anantnag Nasir Ahmad said that the fee of Rs 300 is very low as compared to private coaching centers for two months and said thatit is good for all students include below poverty line students the Government giving them this opportunity to studyin low wages in government coaching centers.
