Srinagar, January 01(KNB): Manzoor Hussain Banyari, father of a newly born child, resident of Shamsipora Shopian of south Kashmir, was arrested and later bailed out in the Nowhatta area old city where he was accused of trying to ‘bury’ his infant alive on Monday afternoon.
As per reports, the said person was caught by the locals and handed over to PS Nowhatta after he was trying to abandon his infant.
Sajad Ahmad Shah, SP north city, said, “The baby had some congenital deformities and the said person told police that he was very poor and could not treat his newly born baby. The case stands registered in police station Nowhatta under FIR number 72/2018 under section 317 RPC.”
Meanwhile, the said person was later released on bail and the baby, according to police, has been shifted to GB Pant hospital for treatment.
While as, the mother of the baby is recovering in the Lal Ded hospital where she gave birth to the child.(KNB)
