17 more test positive for covid19 in J&K,tally reaches 224

Srinagar 11 April (KNB): With the detection of new 17 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday for Coronavirus, taking the total number of such cases to 224.

According to Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), J&K government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said 17 more cases test positive in Kashmir Division. 

17 new cases reported in J&K. 5 from Jammu Division and 12 from Kashmir. Total positive cases now 224. Detailed bulletin follows,” Kansal tweeted

“2 more positives from Muqam Shawali and another from Bandipora currently residing in Trehgam, all contacts of earlier positive patients. All 3 are under quarantine at COVID Hospital Kupwara and are stable.
Request all to cooperate with District Administration in contact tracing and surveillance in Red Zones,” said DC Kupwara

Earlier, More than 37,000 people have been kept under surveillance, including 9,200 who are either in government established quarantine facilities or home isolation.

Meanwhile, with covid19 spreading fast in Kashmir, administration has further tightened restrictions on the movement and assembly of people. Security forces have sealed red zone declared areas in Srinagar city and other areas of Kashmir Valley. (KNB)
