Bandipora 28 Jan (KNB):  Residents of Aloosa area of the district Bandipora held a demonstration against the district administration for failing to macadamize the road in the area which is hardly 7 kilometer away from the district headquarter.

The residents alleged that the authorities are turning a deaf ear towards their genuine demands , the main road of the area in shambles with potholes causing inconvenience to the commuters as well the drivers

The locals said that the Aloosa – Malingam road which connects Aloosa to Bandipora and rest of the Kashmir is dotted with potholes causing immense trouble to the local residents who decry political and official apathy and step-motherly treatment to the area.

“Last year the project for widening of the road was started, and sides of the road was filled with the soil and sand dust, till date the work is yet to be completed and the mere rainfall turns the road into a mud bowl and hardly suitable for the driving, and due to which the risk of the accidents are very high,” said Manzoor Ahmad a local resident.

Another local talking to KNB said that, “If we have to take the patients to the district hospital, it takes us hours to reach as the road is usually filled with the mud and slipery, we request DC Bandipora and other concerned authorities to look at the matter as earliest.

However, Despite the repeated calls to DC Bandipora shahid iqbal choudhary and AEE R&B they could not be contacted to their comment. (KNB)
