Army fully geared up to cement Covid19 containing efforts of administration: GoC Kilo Force

Srinagar, March 31: General Officer Commanding, Kilo Force Major General Ashok Singh today said that army would assist civil administration to help fight the pandemic together.

“I reiterate that Army will leave no stone unturned to defeat this pandemic in collaboration with civil administration and will continue carrying out number of actions like ensuring enforcement of lockdown, spreading awareness amongst local populace, helping civil administration in contact tracing and helping the needy in their hour of distress.”

He said this during a meeting with civil, police and army officers during his visit today to review the overall situation in the district amid the fight against Covid-19. Brigadier Vivek Narang, Commander Watlab Sector, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora and Rahul Malik, SSP Bandipora along with the Commanding Officers of the local Rashtriya Rifles Battallions were present during the review.

During the interaction with the officers discussion was held on the prevailing security situation with special emphasis on status of Covid-19 spread in the District.
The preparedness to contain it and future course of the joint civic military action plan for defeating the pandemic, an official said.

DDC Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza gave inputs on civil administration’s ongoing efforts to fight the pandemic and appreciated the support rendered by the Indian Army in fight against Covid19 in the district. SSP Bandipora Rahul presented his views on the present security situation in Bandipora and also highlighted actions being taken by the Bandipora Police to defeat Covid-19.
