Lolab 27 February(KNB):The week long Volleyball tournament titled”Hamsaya-e-Lolab volleyball competition” Organized by 8 Sector Army under the aegies of Kilo Force concluded on Thursday afternoon at Cherikut Lolab. The tournament received an overwhelming response of over 8 teams from Lolab and near by regions. The zeal and sportsmanship displayed by all the teams was testimony of rich sporting culture and high standard of skills of youth of kashmir.
In a colourful event, the final match was played between the Dewar Lolab and Putshai teams. Both the teams showcased their immense talent.The teams from Dewar Lolab emerged victorious. The Winner and Runnersup team of Lolab were duly felicitated with a cash prize of RS 11000/- and 7000/- respectively by Brig Neeraj Sharma,Commander 8 Sector.
The event was attended Village heads and large number of youths and locals from Lolab region.
Speaking on the occasion,Brig.Neeraj Sharma,Commander 8 Sector ,conveyed his appreciation to the Organising Committee and people of Lolab for successful conduct of the tournament. He exhorded the youth to nurture their skills further by constructively engaging themselves in sports and cultural activities.
Attendees interacted with each other over at the end of the closing ceremony. The civil Society also expressed their gratitude to Army for their genuine concern towards the aspirations of youth and locals.(KNB)
