Srinagar, July 9(KNB): A day after the three political leaders of a single family in district Bandipora were attacked and killed, a wavering atmosphere has been created across the whole Kashmir valley among the political workers

With four political leaders being killed in just two months in the district Anantnag and Bandipora while one woman sarpanch threatened by the suspected militants, various political leaders have raised a huge concern over their security and had termed the attacks as “Target Killing”.

Er Aijaz Hussain Vice President Youth BJP talking on the Bandipora said, “The whole BJP party condemns the killing of three leaders at Bandipora district by militants, it is very unfortunate incident and such incident needs an immediate action so that the security of not only the leaders but of the common masses should be ensured.”

Terming the attack as Target killing he said, “BJP leaders are targeted in the valley since a long time, but such attacks won’t stop us to work well for the people. It is a target killing by Pakistan and militants.”

However, IGP Kashmir Vijay said that the militants carried out a pre-planned attack on BJP leader and shot dead him along with his father and brother outside his residence, while all the ten security personnels who were on duty at that time have been suspended and are under custody.

In an interview with news agency Kashmir News Bureau, Rahim Rather condemned the Bandipora killing and said, “Such dreadful attacks on mainstream political leaders have been taking place in the valley from a long time and these need to be stopped at this particular point of time as the leaders are the representatives of the public.”

He further added, “We need to look into such incidents and all political leaders should come forward to find a solution to put an end to such unfortunate killings.”

Earlier on June 8, Ajay Pandita , a 40-year-old sarpanch in south Kashmir’s Anantnag was attacked at his orchard and shot dead by suspected militants which triggered a panic among the Panchayat leaders.(KNB)
