Food safety awareness programme held at Qalamabad Handwara

Handwara 30 Oct(KNB): On the  directions of Director of Food civil services and consumer affairs  today Assistant Commissioner of food safety act of  kupwara along with Health officials and members of Swach Bharat Yatra team organized a  mass awareness program regarding Food safety in schools and colleges in Handwara.
In this connection today an awareness program was organised in collaboration with Girls High school Qalamabad in which  teaching staff, non teaching staff, civil society members and  members from Traders federation of Qalamabad participated.
 The awareness program was launched  by Assistant Commissioner Food safety Kupwara Mr Rafiq ahmad in presence of officials of swatch Bharat yatra who were also accompanied by different officials from the state administration.
 Students from different schools  participated in the awareness program.
Swatch bharat yatra team which is  working all over the country  visited many schools and colleges to launch this awareness campaign in order to avoid use of fast food items, oily eatables, marketing products, chemicals as which are harmful human lives.
 Swacth  bharat yatra team head Mr Arun gogia who is also head of J&k state showed different visuals, videos, adds on screen to the students to in order to explain to students the hazards of some worst foods and items which are being sold in open market.
The team gave some instructions to the students that how students can  play a  role in society to create awareness about usage of harmful food items and how  to avoid use of fast food items which are being prepared with the use of harmful chemicals and artificial colours.
The main focus of the awareness program was to make the students aware about how to implement food safety at their homes  and how to create awareness among the common masses of the society.
Team head while talking to Kashmir News Bureau said , “that more such awareness programmes will be conducted  in every nook of the state.(KNB)
