Srinagar 05 December (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir institute of management, public administration and rural development (IMPA) has been established by the state government as an autonomous society, though being financially funded by state as well as various ministries of Govt of India.
Though the IMPA was established for the in-service training to the state government employees well as to undertake research and consultancy in areas of the crucial importance to the administration of the state.
However, the said institution has invited the applications for the different posts on all India basis as full time job which is direct attack on the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile on 2nd of December the IMPA has issued a notice regarding the recruitment for the posts of professor, Associate professor and Assistant professor.
While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, a Political science student Ajaz Rasool mir said, “Rules for the recruitment were amended back in 1990’s but unfortunately till date no local government or officials has raised this issue till date, which directly shows their commitment towards safeguarding the special status of the state besides that Jammu and Kashmir is facing the problem of unemployment.”
According to survey, Jammu and Kashmir is having more than 25% population in the age of (18 to 30) which is double as compared to all India unemployment rate of 13.2 percent, it will result in more unemployment in state.
Important to mention here, The state of Jammu and Kashmir has a special status in the constitution of India .The Article 35 and Article 370 provide the state of Jammu and Kashmir a unique identity, some of the provision of the Article prohibits the non –state persons from seeking the jobs, owning property, purchasing land in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
When Kashmir News Bureau Contacted Mushtaq Ahmad, Joint Director IMPA, he said, “I am not an authorized person to comment on this issue.” (KNB)
