J&K records second death in single day, death toll Jumps to 15

Srinagar, May 18 (KNB): The second death was recorded in Kashmir Valley after a 65-year-old covid-19 patient from Kulgam died at CD hospital taking the death toll to 15.

As per the reports, 65-year-old female from Kulgam admitted in Surgical ICU in SMHS Hospital as case of sub dural haemorrhage (SDH) tested positive for the virus today morning and was shifted to CD Hospital Srinagar where she died after having cardiac arrest.

Earlier, 75-year-old man resident of Kokernag Anantnag, admitted at CD hospital for several days after his fresh sample, known as tracheal aspirate rather than the ordinary naso/oropharyngeal swab returned positive following which he was taken to CD hospital where he died in the early hours.

As of now, 15 persons have died due to the disease so far in Jammu and Kashmir 13 of them in Kashmir and two in the Jammu division.(KNB)
