Anantnag 24 August (KNB): In an 5 hour long gunfight one militant was killed and three civilians were injured in clashes in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, on a specific information about the presence of militants police along with army cordoned off Gadol village of Vailoo area of Kokernag.
Officials said, “hiding militants fired on search party which later turned into encounter.”
However, The identity of the slain militant was not immediately known.
Meanwhile, three Civilians were also injured during clashes near the encounter site, one of the injured has been identified as Yawar Ahmad, was brought to district hospital Anantnag for treatment. A doctor treating him said Ahmad has suffered a bullet injury in the back of his head.
