Locals refuse to buy milk, Gujar community offers it free to quarantine centers

Srinagar, April 14(KNB): In an exemplary way, residents of Gujar Basti Chakmahala of district Samba today decided to provide milk, free of cost to all the quarantine centres in the district.

Earlier, the Gujar community of district Samba alleged that locals stop buying milk from the Gujar Muslims following rumours circulated in the area that the Muslims are the main cause for spreading the coronavirus by spitting into milk.

President of Dodhi Gujar Association, Jameel Choudhary said, “I have talked to the Divisional Commissioner that we will be supplying free milk to all the quarantine centres in the district.”

Talking about the rumours circulated in the area he said, “The maximum supply of milk in the market is from Dodhi Association, people have been using the milk from years, Rumour Mongers are always in the society who talk anything that comes into their mind,so there is no point of those rumours, I had never believed in that.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the extension of the complete lockdown of the country till May 3, to prevent the spread of deadly Covid-19. (KNB)
