Millitant of Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit Killed in Sopore Encounter

Sopore 8 April(KNB):A militant who had joined millitant ranks in 2018 and was associated with Jaish e Mohammad outfit was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

The slain militant has been identified as Sajad Ahmad Dar resident of Saidapora, Sopore.The militant was active from 2018 and a number of cases were registered against him for subversive activities in different police stations of Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention that acting on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area A joint team of army’s 22 RR, 179 battalion CRPF and SOG had cordoned off Gulabad area of Arampora Sopore on Tuesday evening and after fourteen hours of CASO the hiding militant fired upon the search party ensuing an encounter and in retaliation one militant was killed today.

Meanwhile Searches are going to clear the area and to ensure that the encounter site becomes explosive free.(KNB)
