Private School Force Parents to purchase books at high rates “unacceptable”: Dc Srinagar

Srinagar 01 Nov (KNB): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar on Thursday said that “Some private schools are forcing parents to buy books, uniform at exorbitant rates which is not acceptable.”

Talking on Twitter Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed said “There’s been some complaints abt certain pvt schools forcing parents to buy school items at exorbitant rates.UNACCEPTABLE.Watsapp me on 7051112345 specific complaints.I SHALL NOT let nefarious elements fleece citizens.”

However, Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad directed all deputy commissioners to keep watch on booksellers who are selling books to children on exorbitant rates.

On the other hand, Director School Education Kashmir on Thursday issued a circular instructing all private recognised schools to desist from compelling the parents for purchasing books and uniforms from any particular shop. (KNB)
