RMSA teachers’ demand release of salary

Baramulla, Jun 29 (KNB): The lackadaisical attitude of the Education Department can be gauged by the fact that over 550 specific subject teachers working in education department under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) have not been paid salaries from last five months.
The teachers who spoke to KNB said that they were never paid their salaries since the day they were employed by the department and told that the concerned authorities always make lame excuses and claim technical snarls at the central and state levels as one of the reasons behind the delay of salaries which has compelled us to face hardships.
The teachers also demanded that the government should consider them on par with regular employees of the Education Department and release their salaries on time.
“Our families are dependent on us and despite working so hard for the last five months we have not been given our salaries despite completing all the verifications and formalities which is grave injustice with us. I request the government to pay us timely so that we can feed and provide basic necessities to our families” told Mehraj Din Lone President RMSA teachers association while talking to Kashmir News Bureau.
He also added that they had several meetings and approached concerned officials to expedite the release of salaries but to no avail.
When Contacted Director School Education Kashmir Mr. GN Itoo told that the figures regarding salary were to be adopted and approved in the Project approval Board meeting (PAB) in Delhi and this was the main reason for the delay in releasing salaries and the matter will hopefully be settled in coming days and told that you should contact RMSA project Director for further details.
When contacted State Project Director RMSA Mr. Abdul Rashid War denied talking stating “I am going for Nimaz and it’s not right time to talk” disconnected the call. (KNB)
