Handwara 14 March(KNB):Acting on a specific input about the the movement of some militants and militant associates Army’s 30RR,Police and CRPF laid a Joint surprise naka at Panthachowk kralgund, Ananwan Hajan crossing.
During surprise checking of the Vehicles and Pedestrians, two suspicious persons on seeing the naka checking tried to escape from the spot but were chased and apprehended by the security forces.
The apprehended personshave been identified as Nazir Ahmed Wani S/o Ab Khaliq and Bashir Ahmed Wani S/o Mohd Afzal both residents of Sheikhpora Tarathpora,Vilgam and during search a bag was recovered and during search of the bag, one AK 74, 3 Magazines ,7.62 mm ammunition (147) ,1 Chinese Pistol, 3 pistol magazines, 24 Chinese pistol rounds, one UBGL was recovered.
A police officer told Kashmir News Bureau that In this context, Case FIR NO 16/2020 U/S 7/25 Indian Arms Act, 13,18,20 UA(P) Act stands registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been taken up .(KNB)
