Shutdown in Sopore to mourn murder of goldsmith

Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNB): Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday observed complete shutdown to mourn the killing of a goldsmith whose body was retrieved from Jhelum after over a month yesterday.

Tariq Ahmad Malik (31) of Kalaroos Kupwara, who was putting up at Baba Yousuf Sopore was murdered after his abduction allegedly by four jewelers from his shop at Chota Bazar Sopore on December 26.

Pertinently, Bar Association Sopore, fruit growers and dealers association fruit Mandi Sopore and Industrial Manufacturing Association Sopore have supported the shutdown call given by trade body.

All shops and small business establishments remained closed in Sopore town. However, traffic was plying normally.
The funeral prayers of the deceased were offered at 2 pm at Iqbal market Sopore. (KNB)
