SMC COMMISIONER REMINDS ANIMAL LOVERS TO FEED STRAYS AMID COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Srinagar,March 31(KNB): Amid coronavirus scare in Kashmir valley, SMC Commissioner Gazanfar Ali has appealed public on Tuesday to feed many stray animals as possible as due to the lockdown all shops including poultry and meat are closed

With a rising number of positive coronavirus cases, Jammu and Kashmir along with whole India has gone into lockdown, while humans have been finding ways to deal with the lockdown, stray animals might end up becoming an unforeseen casualty of the lockdown.

Gazanfar Ali in a tweet said, “Pl be kind towards animals, Almighty wil b kind to us. The stray animals don’t get food in current #lockdown due 2closure of food courts, poultry & meat shops Kindly feed them. Help in #ecologicalBalance.I hv also issued appeal to general public officially in this regard #COVID19.”

Pertenently, the total number of positive cases of novel caronavirus in Jammu Kashmir has taken the tally to 55 on Tuesday, while world leaders, health experts and epidemiologists are doing their best to find a way to prevent or at least slow down the spread of the pandemic, it is important to remember the health and safety of animals that depend on humans for their survival.(KNB)
